VERNON SELECTBOARD

 MEETING

 

FEBRUARY 22, 2010                                     7:00 PM

WELCOME AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

At 7:01 pm Chair Mike Ball welcomed those present and called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

TOWN MEETING PREPARATION-

 

            WARNING DISTRIBUTION-

The Board went over the list of articles to determine who would present each one.

 

            DISCUSS POTENTAL ISSUES-RESOLUTIONS-

No issues at this time.

 

            VY PRESENTATION-

 The Board would announce before article # 6 a motion to allow Vermont Yankee to speak on Tuesday at 7:30 Town Meeting night. Regular town voters will be allowed to ask questions.

The Board thanked Tim.

 

HUMAN RESOURCES ISSUES

 

            SERGEANT’S PAY-

LYNDA STARORYPINSKI MADE THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE SERGEANTS RATE OF PAY AT GRADE # 9 TO $18.45 PER HOUR. LEN HOWARD SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

            TREASURER’S PAY GRADE-

Tabled until March 15th 2010.

 

NEW/OLD UNFINISHED BUSINESS-

LEN HOWARD MADE THE MOTION TO APPROVE FOR BRIAN DANIELS TO GET PAID FOR HELPING THE TOWN CLERK WITH HER COMPUTER AT A STRAIGHT TIME OF RATE OF PAY AND TO COME OUT OF THE TOWN CLERKS BUDGET. ROBERT MILLER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

MEDIA

Chris Garofolo asked about the changes to the James Cusick Fund requirements. Mike Ball stated that the need to increase the fund was because so many more students are applying for the fund with the amount awarded to the students would still be at $1000.00.

The Board thanked Chris.

 

LEN HOWARD made the motion to adjourn. MIKE COURTEMANCHE seconded the motion. THE motion carried.
